ABOUT COLLEGE OUTLOOK

Featured Schools

As high school students, you will be the first to point out that college today is different than college 30 years ago, when College Outlook published its first editions.
College Outlook
When Outlook got its start in 1976, the Internet was a private military network, cable-ready dorm rooms were a punchline, and campus civil rights were just starting to take hold nationally.

Today’s campuses have evolved. Though the century-old buildings on the brochures look the same, just about everything else has changed: chalkboards have been replaced by projectors and Powerpoint presentations, event tickets are now placed digitally on student ID cards, and you can take entire tests online.

College Outlook just rolls with the changes. That’s where our new Web site and updated design for our magazine come in. Outlook’s design, like the college environment, has changed continuously since its inception. Campuses have changed more dramatically than ever in the last couple years, and Outlook has followed suit.

But some things never change. College Outlook has always been a tool for high school upperclassmen to get in touch with the colleges they want. Outlook was the first publication to use business reply cards to help students find the right institutions, and vice versa. In that tradition, Outlook now has the most user-friendly Web site interface to bridge the gap between students and their futures.

So what’s next for College Outlook? More student-centered articles. More Internet resources for our readers — students, parents and counselors. And, most importantly, better communication between readers, colleges and the College Outlook staff.

What’s next for college life? It’s up to you to find out.

Mission Statement

To be a must-have resource for high school juniors and seniors who are almost ready to make the leap to college, providing whatever our readers need to get ready and insure the best possible experience before, during and immediately after their college careers.
